All, The product that I am working on uses all the new bits so I could really do with doing the dev on Vista. I have install vista, downloaded the FEB CTP etc, when I run my test WCF app I get errors about the config file. It is complaining about the type attribute under system.serverModel/service/service.

Here's a response I got from one of the API developers: SAPI and the managed speech API in the Feb CTP and Beta 2 include the support for 2 types of <tag-format>; "properties-ms/1.0" and "semantics-ms/1.0". The first type is supported on XP and up (on system.speech) while the second requires Vista.

So install that This is only true for older Vista builds. Although the February CTP build may be faster, later builds are just as agonizingly slow to install under Virtual Server 2005 R2 as they are under VPC 2004 SP1, so switching to Virtual Server is a very short-lived solution to this particular issue.
